We will answer:

What does it mean to be a Montessori parent?

How do I accept my child for who they are while still setting boundaries?

Why won’t my child listen to me?

Help! How do I get my child to stop screaming/throwing/whining?

How can I possibly stay calm through a tantrum?

Why won’t my child just play?

Can I implement Montessori without all the “things”?

How do I get my partner on board?

Through this course you will have a deeper understanding of not only Montessori but of yourself and your child. You will be more understanding, educated, empathetic, and patient. You will learn how to be kind and firm at the same time. With guided observation worksheets, you will be able to help your child help themselves.

Breaking it Down

Over the course of one week, beginning February 1st, we will present seven modules, each covering a different aspect of Montessori parenting. We know you are busy parents, so we have kept each module between 10 to 21 minutes, with clear steps and sample scripts for you to use. We hope to make Montessori at home accessible for all.

What Parents are saying about The Montessori Parent’s Course

“The Parent Guide has been one of the best resources I’ve come across during my Montessori journey. The way Theresa and Bridget have selected and organized the content is concise but at the same time thorough. It’s incredibly easy to follow, understand and apply. A great bonus (that I have not seen in other guides) are the workbooks and discussion group. Getting my questions answered directly by Theresa and/or Bridget is alone worth getting the guide for.” - Meivys, Mom of 2 toddlers

"We can't say enough about this guide. Bridget and Theresa do a great job at explaining how to be a Montessori parent and what that can look like. They give prime examples for how to approach situations that we all face daily and go about it the Montessori and gentle parenting way. What we like most are the ideas they give to re-evaluate how you think about things as the adult! There were so many "Ah Ha" moments! What is even better is that you can listen on your phone while getting things done around the house!" - India & Raye, @montessori_melaninmamas

“I have used the Montessori Guides from @montessoriinreallife and @montessoriinmotion since the birth of my now 14 months old. When I saw they released a parent's guide, I was so excited. I was looking forward to learning some tools beyond the materials to incorporate respectful parenting and the Montessori philosophy at home. To say that I am impressed with this course is an understatement. Within two days of the course, I noticed such big changes in myself and my toddler. Meltdowns were fewer, Arlo responded to limits very well, and we were both happier for it. He showed so much interest in participating in practical life: preparing food, getting dressed, and cleaning up after himself. I love that each module is no more than 20 minutes, making it possible to work through during nap time. I am currently watching it a second time, this time with my husband, and taking more detailed notes to have for future reference. This course has taught me so much about myself as well, and I know I will use these tools far beyond the toddler years. Thank you Theresa and Bridget for creating such a well organized course!” - Marina, @intuitivelyraised, mom of 14-mo-old

The Montessori Parents Guide reinvigorated my energy as a parent. The course helped me focus on what I can control and prepare as a parent: myself and the environment. I found that I became much more aware of how I was reacting to my child and how I would prefer to react and interact with her. I can now focus on observing, following, and connecting with her. The course helped pull me away from focusing on Montessori materials and more on Montessori parenting! It was the best money and time investment I’ve made for my parenting. - Susan, mom of 1-yr-old

"I had the pleasure of taking Theresa and Bridget’s course when it was first offered. There is so much helpful parenting information for your Montessori home within each module and the workbook and bonus materials were so appreciated. This is a delightful course for those new to Montessori or those wanting to learn more. I am incorporating many new things into our daily life after taking the course and I cannot recommend it enough!" - Nikki @sonnysmontessori

"Taking The Montessori Parents course has been a tremendous help to our daily lives. Designed for busy parents on the go. The modules are quick and the takeaway is forever. Truly valuable information that can be implemented instantly. Using Montessori methods, Theresa and Bridget provide strategies to handle tricky behaviors, tips for becoming a prepared adult and clear concise examples that any parent can benefit from. Since taking the course power struggles happen less and positive responding happens more. Thank you for this amazing resource!" - Christina @playbasedlearningNYC

“It can be overwhelming to see so many ideas online at times as a parent and feel like you aren’t doing enough. As I’ve been reflecting I just wanted to say I SO appreciated the experience of being in person with other people who are like minded and on a journey with Montessori during the Montessori Mornings. I appreciated how both of you have so much knowledge about Montessori and shared your experiences but also how you made it so inviting that you don’t need to be doing all these things at home and can truly take it step by step. I know that has had an impact on me and my girls as we have been working through the times of being at home all the time. I hope that someday post Covid times there will be Montessori Mornings again and for now just wanted to say thank you for how you have impacted my perspective with Montessori.” - Tara (part of our in-person Montessori parent-child class)
